There was a movie I watched as a child that had a scene that stuck with me until this day. In the movie a group of people are trying to escape a sinking cruise ship, there comes a point where they are having to climb out of a room and the old lady simply cant do it so is left behind.

Over my life I have witnessed countless versions of this play out, from people unable to get up of the floor due to weakness to parents unable to catch up with their toddlers as they run away towards danger.

Training for me serves many purposes but the older I get the more I realize that there is no stopping this and simply retiring. I am going to without fail be completely capable in my own body to do all the things I want to do until the day I drop. I don’t see that this is complicated task it simply means training for life.

As we age, maintaining our physical capabilities becomes increasingly important to lead an active and fulfilling life.
